China Global Television Network quoted the WHO statement: There is no evidence that pets like dogs and cats can transmit the new corona virus.
According to Dan Sinh newspaper, the images of hair-raising hairs about many carcasses of pets lying on the street flooded Weibo social network. According to the content in the posts, they did not die of disease but were thrown out of the high-rise buildings by their owners.
All due to the false information that corona virus can be transmitted by pets, many Chinese people were terrified and heartless to kill their pets.
In Shanghai, 5 cats also died tragically from being thrown from above. Many witnesses confirmed that they fell down at about 4 am, with a child hit by a car, making the siren sound loud.
Many Chinese netizens asserted, a female doctor surnamed Li said on television: “If the pet has come into contact with a suspected corona virus, they need to be quarantined”.
However, a local news site faintly deceived the black child, intentionally posting with the content: “Dogs and cats can spread corona virus”.
This false news was quickly spread by people on Weibo, the word “animal isolation” was suddenly slaughtered.
In an attempt to end this misinformation, the China Global Television Network (CGTN) quoted the statement from the World Health Organization (WHO): “There is no evidence that pets like dogs and cats can transmit the new corona virus “.
Therefore, if your dog or cat has been in contact with a suspected corona virus, just quarantine them from contact and monitor the situation.
Also according to Thanh Nien newspaper, according to information from WHO, so far there has been no evidence of domestic pets (such as dogs, cats …) infected with nCoV. However, experts still recommend that people wash their hands with soap and water after coming into contact with pets. That is how to protect against E.Coli, Samonella bacteria that are usually spread from pets to humans.
NCoV will weaken in warm temperatures, especially above 25 degrees C, high humidity. In addition, sunlight is also a good source of energy to kill viruses in the wild.
This is a good thing for areas with hot, humid and sunny climates like in Vietnam in limiting the duration of the virus in the external environment. However, this does not mean that hot climates are not at risk.
Residents can take advantage of the temperature factor to reduce the power of the virus, avoid staying in closed rooms with too cold temperatures and have to keep their homes well ventilated.
In order to avoid spreading the epidemic, people are advised not to gather or go to crowded places, but this does not mean “keeping it closed” indoors with air conditioning.
“Need to open the door for ventilation, get in the sun, limit staying in an air-conditioned room below 25 degrees C”, Dr. Truong Huu Khanh Head of Social Work Department, Children’s Hospital 1 (HCMC), a infectious disease specialist, emphasized.
Many believe wearing a mask is the only way to prevent illness. However, according to Associate Professor – Doctor – Doctor Nguyen Anh Tuan, Head of General Internal Medicine Department 2, Children’s Hospital 1 (Ho Chi Minh City): Just wearing a mask is not enough, people have to do all the is recommended for effective disease prevention. In particular, pay attention to frequent hand washing with soap, this is the most important measure to prevent infectious diseases (even more important than wearing a mask).
Dr. Truong Huu Khanh added: The nCoV virus spreads from sick people or carriers through droplets emitted by coughing and sneezing.
Viruses must be in secretions to survive, not be able to float alone. Virus in droplets fly into the environment and cling to objects if the person coughing or sneezing does not cover his mouth. Another person used a handle to handle these objects (stair handrails, doorknobs …) contaminated with viral secretions. From hand will spread the virus everywhere. Therefore, proper hand washing with soap is the top preventive measure.
